​Sungwoo has been producing automotive batteries since the 1970's, and is a key supplier to every major automobile manufacturer in Korea.  In addition to OEM Hyundai and Kia business, Sungwoo also produces BCI group sizes for 99% of the vehicles on the road today.  

What differentiates Sungwoo from competitors is the fact that every battery manufactured has the following features:

  • Completely Sealed & Maintenance Free, each lid is affixed using 4 point thermocoupling
  • Built with Polymic Separators (PE) which have higher acid resistance than less expensive materials used by many domestic manufacturers
  • Built with an exhaust filter in the top of the case prevents electrolyte leakage
  • Built with a hydrometer featuring a Green / Yellow / Red indicator 
  • Tetrabasic (4BS) nanotechnology packs much more active material onto the plates which leads to longer life, higher CCA, and higher overall capacity
  • Built in reinforced handles eliminate carrying straps
  • Made with positive plates that are cured and dried in special curing chambers
  • Cell to cell connections are robotically strap welded improving conductivity and reliability
  • Cold rolled grid material increases strength to weight ratio and resistance to corrosion
  • 17% Oil content in the separators further increases oxidation resistance
  • Forge weleded terminals increase terminal strength
